On Sunday, January 12, 2020 from 1-3pm, parents and their prospective student are invited to attend our annual Open House to tour our welcoming classrooms, meet our teachers, and learn more about our preschool. This is a great opportunity for children to explore the classroom, and offers parents the chance to ask questions of our directors and teachers.
Registration occurs in January of each year for the following fall semester. Registration for the 2020-2021 school year will be held on Monday, January 6 from 9am-1pm. A non-refundable registration fee of $75 is required. A waiting list is maintained on a first-come-first-served basis. However, priority is given to those who wish to re-enroll their child for the following school year. Second priority will be given to Christ Clarion church members, and finally, to siblings of former Christ Clarion Community Preschool students and children of Christ Clarion Community Preschool alumni. Completed registration forms will be accepted prior to January 6th, but the lottery for placement will be held after the January 6th registration day. If you missed our registration day, call our director, Lisa Wrona, at (585)381-5091 for information on available placements.
Christ Clarion Community Preschool maintains a scholarship fund to provide for children who would otherwise not be able to have a preschool experience. We have fundraising events during the school year for this purpose. If you are aware of a child who could benefit from a scholarship, please contact our director, Lisa Wrona, via email at email@example.com.
2-Year Old Preschool Class
Children must be two before December 1st to register. The emphasis of the program will be on developing independence and the ability to separate from a parent or caregiver for a short period of time as well as learning to socialize appropriately with peers. Children will be introduced to basic concepts such as colors and shapes. Activities will include stories, finger plays, music and movement. Children will have opportunities to develop large and fine motor skills as they explore the classroom and use manipulative materials.
Tuesday, Thursday and Friday Preschool Classes
This program will foster independence and the ability to separate from a parent or caregiver, as well as extend social and academic skills. Participation in group activities, following a classroom routine, and interacting successfully with peers and teachers in the classroom will be encouraged. Age appropriate academic skills will be intertwined with classroom activities, projects, lessons, and stories selected based on the developmental needs of the class. Through active exploration, children are encouraged to understand themselves and their relationships with those around them. A wide variety of creative activities are provided through which the children may enjoy free expression and personality enrichment as well as enourage a love of learning. Children must be 3 by December 1st to register.
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday Classes
Children must be four by December 1st in order to enroll in the MWF morning class. This program is designed to develop the skills and concepts necessary for the Common Core Standards that will be taught in Kindergarten. Children must be three by June 1st in order to enroll in the MWF afternoon class.
Monday - Friday Class

Transitional Kindergarten Class
Christ Clarion is offering a five day Transitional Kindergarten class for children who would benefit from a bonus year to mature and master the skills necessary to be successful in Kindergarten. The program will run from 9am-12pm. We will be coordinating our program with the Pittsford School District and the NYS Education Department.
Christ Clarion is excited to offer three programs to enrich your child's preschool experience. Each class meets one afternoon per week from 12:30 - 3pm. Enrichment classes run from October through the end of May.
Literature for Little Learners (Tuesdays)
This literacy program will promote language development in an interesting and exciting setting. Children will be exposed to numerous forms of print and the spoken word. Well chosen books will be used as stepping stones to expand on your child's ability to follow a story line, follow a sequence of events, practice listening skills, respond to the beauty and techniques of the illustrations, have conversations and understand the connection between the spoken word and written text. Creative and varied activities will be presented to your child each class to immerse them in all the treasures that literature has to offer. The class will provide the opportunity to spend more time with favorite authors, illustrators, and characters. Children must be 4 by December 1st in order to enroll in this class.
Good education begins with a child's natural curiosity. This enrichment class will take that curiosity and unleash the magic and mystery of science, technology, engineering, art, and math. Teachers will utilize creative thinking activities, hands-on experiments, shared and cooperative experiences, field trips, guest speakers and literature to expose your child to the elements of the scientific method (observation, hypothesis, prediction, experimentation and evaluation). These varied activities will allow your child to discover the world of science and math in a fun and age appropriate manner. Children must be 4 by December 1st in order to enroll in this class.
Arts and Smarts (Monday or Wednesday)
This enrichment opportunity is an extension of our TTh and TThF preschool sessions and allows children the opportunity to attend school three or four days per week. Students will be given the opportunity to immerse themselves further into the developmentally appropriate practices of our three year old curriculum in the areas of: science, math, literacy and the arts. This program differs from the Literature for Little Learners and STEAM classes, which are suited for mastery of our four year old curriculum. Class meets one afternoon per week from 12:30-3. Children must be 3 by December 1st.
Camp Cool features a different play theme each week for three weeks at the end of our current school year. The format is somewhat different than our school day to give the program more of a summer feel. The camp is open to all current Christ Clarion students in the threes and fours classes, and runs from 10am-1pm three days a week. The dates and themes for this summer's program will be sent home with registration information in March.
